This role is a hands-on position for a self-motivated individual who enjoys working in fast paced and collaborative environment. Our Online team have a passion for technology and digital services. Online is the fastest growing area of our business and in this team, you will be directly responsible in creating features and services that our online customers use.As the Online Lead Developer, you will be the technical owner of APG & Co’s eCommerce sites and marketplace channels. You will lead and further develop the Online Development team who provide development capability, technical support, and user support for all APG & Co’s digital revenue channels.This role is an opportunity to establish yourself as a technology leader in our business. Your expertise will be essential in developing key integrations with our service partners as well as our internal business applications.ResponsibilitiesTechnical ownership of APG & Co eCommerce and marketplace solutionsCore development, maintenance and on-going enhancement of APG & Co’s Demandware platform and any corresponding integrations to 3rd parties service providers.Technical support and resolution of production issues and bugsManage and upskill Online Development team members to support, enhance and improve APG & Co’s eCommerce and marketplace solutionsManage and prioritise development team work load to meet sprint cycles and project timelines alongside technical support priorities.Establish and maintain code management best practices with development team members and external vendorsDocumentation any technical designs or procedures into our internal knowledge baseProvide technical expertise and collaborate with internal teams to understand new requirements and/or troubleshoot issuesManagement of external vendors/service suppliers to build and/or support our integrations points with external systemsPlan and estimate effort for backlog items for sprint planningPlan and estimate effort for cross department technical projectsReport progress and status of technical activities to Head of Online. This includes the escalation of any issues that will impact the delivery of projectsSkills and QualificationsExpert level experience in developing dynamic web applications4+ year experience working on eCommerce projects.5+ year experience with Web service technologies and standards (protocols, security, etc.).3+ year UI experience with HTML5 / CSS 3 / SASS / SMACSS / JavaScript / Ajax1+ year commercial working experience developing in React / Redux3+ year OOP experienceExperience in integrations to 3rd parties services via Restful APIs and JSON.Experience in responsive and mobile web development Knowledge of web service technologies and standards (protocols, security, XML, Restful APIs and JSON etc)Experience with source control tools e.g. BIT Bucket, SourceTree, Bitknex with EclipseFamiliarity with scrum and working in an agile project environment using JIRAExperience in working directly with internal customers & external partners, solving technical issues, and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical team membersStrong ability to balance multiple responsibilities and take initiativeAbility to perform in a fast paced and highly interactive team environmentFlexible, team oriented, self-motivated, proactive, and passionate.Ability to work on multiple projects, reprioritise as needed and consistently deliver on time.Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) is highly regardedAPG & Co CultureThe culture at APG & Co is believing in one team, being passionate, clear and simple.
