Reporting to the Head Knitwear Designer, an opportunity has come up for a 3 - 4 month contract for a Knitwear Designer for our Sportscraft and SABA (womenswear) brands. APG & Co values and expects authentic, courageous, driven team players.   The Role      ProductCollaborate with Head of Product & Design team to design product in line with the Brand DNA that meets customer needs and offers constant innovation.Work with Buying Team and Head of Product of Design to ensure collection has consistent fit, reflects market trends and is in line with customer profile.Work with seasonal colour and concept boards to deliver a powerful and strong in store messageEnsure all fabrication meet all brand standards and 1st margin requirements.Coordinate the flow of activities from design concepts - researching trends to the set up of specs.Ensure brand alignment and creative direction complements brand DNA.  Fit & QualityWork in conjunction with Quality Technicians to ensure product has a high standard of consistent fit and high quality workmanshipEstablish and maintain a core block/pattern system in order to ensure consistency across all stylesFitting experience and a strong understanding of garment construction. Ensuring quality samples are received & fitted in a timely manner & timelines adhered toPrepare technical sketches and design / spec sheets and ensure they are in accordance with production requirementsYou5+ years in a Senior Design role with a major fashion retailerStrong knowledge of the Australian fashion market Strong technical drawing skillsDetail orientedKPI and deadline driven Partner with Buying to deliver sell through and margin  Where do I sign?This contract role can be full-time or part-time and is based in our stunning head offices in Alexandria.
