We are looking for an exceptional Senior Financial Accountant to support the Financial Controller to ensure a high standard of accounting is maintained across the Group. You will be assigned one of our iconic brands and expected to demonstrate complete ownership of the assigned brand’s trial balance. The role requires you to partner with colleagues both inside and outside of finance to report insights that will help drive positive outcomes for your brand.As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be expected to take on a leadership role within the team to help develop and mentor other junior accountants. The RoleMonth End P&L ResultProcess the month end journals for commercial team to produce profit & lossPerform P&L variance analysis through the preparation of the month end P&L templatesSuccinct presentation of variance analysisAssist commercial in producing monthly reportsBalance Sheet ReconciliationsOwnership of full TB for assigned brandsMonthly review with FC/Commercial identifying areas of riskPreparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations at brand and group level (as appropriate) for assigned accounts (ie Intercompany/Stock/AP)Year- EndPrepare and review year-end journalsAssist Finance Controller through audit processInternal auditSupport adherence to policies, procedures & controls.Apply &/ or implement recommendations from internal & external audits.Assist with the development of internal audit procedures.Stock ManagementOversee the stock management process, ensuring stock levels are accurate in store/Goods-in-transit (GIT)/Head office warehousesCash flow forecastingManaging the business’ 12 week and 12month cash flow forecastsPeople managementProactive mentoring of junior accountants in the teamProcess ImprovementChallenge the current process for any inefficiencies and proactively take an initiative to improve themConsistency achieved in all processes/outputs across teamPrepare process manualsActively share knowledge with team membersBank covenants Preparation of quarterly compliance certificates to the bankYouMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial / accounting functionsExperience in retail sector for Australia and New Zealand would be an advantagePrior experience with Apparel 21 or similar ERP systems is preferred.Experience in mentoring and managing junior staffBachelor Degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA/CA qualification or equivalent (or working towards)Proven working knowledge of AASB / IFRSAdvance ExcelKnowledge of Power BI, Medius Flow, Procube, and Lease Eagle is an advantage.EntrepreneurialResilience under pressure and adaptive to changesTeam player with driveStrong interpersonal & communication skills & be flexible in your approach to resolve issuesHands-on practical problem solving and ability to complete tasks within set timeframesWhere do I sign?This full-time role is based in our stunning head offices in Alexandria.
