Located at our Head Office in Alexandria. APG & Co has over 1500 employees representing 3 iconic Australian fashion brands, SABA, Sportscraft, JAG with stores across Australia and New Zealand.Reporting to the Head of Finance, we are seeking a Qualified Accountant, preferably with a retail background. Primarily this role will be supporting the Head of Finance to manage the financial accounting and month end reporting, prepare board reports and other ad-hoc projects as they come up. As a Financial Accountant, this technical and challenging role will see you responsible for a vast array of duties including but not limited to:Full Reconciliations of Balance Sheet and P&L StatementsPreparation of month end financial management reports on a timely basis, including variance analysis and issue investigation.Ensuring the correct and effective maintenance of financial accounting and general ledger systemsDocumentation of internal processes, controls and proceduresConsistently improving the data processing and reporting qualityPreparation of month end pack, board pack and management reportsDeep understanding of the cost lines and communicating the monthly result with individual budget ownersAssisting Head of Finance to produce accurate Bank Covenant submissionRegular commercial reporting and analysisAssisting with the delivery of financial budgeting and forecastingPreparation of accurate FX hedge book reportingYear end processing and reconciliationATO, BAS, GST, NZ GST, FBT and statutory compliances, Regular liaison with External Auditors and Tax agentAd-hoc business projects A solid background as a Financial Accountant with proven practical experience, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:Tertiary qualificationFully qualified CA/CPA or near completionMinimum 3 years' experience in a similar roleAdvanced MS Excel skills is a mustExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenExperience of using Apparel 21 software system is highly regarded but not essential;High attention to detail and high level of accuracyAbility to multi-task within a fast paced environmentHands on with a positive can do attitude APG & Co CultureThe culture at APG & Co believes in one team, being passionate, clear and simple.
