The primary objective of the role is to manage the preparation of robust financial information and associated reports for Management, the Board and Executive Committees.As Finance Manager this key role will ensure that internal and external reporting is accurate, timely and in compliance with accounting standards and disclosure requirements.This role specialises at preparing and analysing financial information at a Brand and Divisional level overseeing all financial aspects of the operations as well as internal stakeholder engagement to drive effective outcomes.You will also be responsible for leading a small team of transactional staff. Providing hands-on support and guidance across the finance function.We are seeking someone with a positive drive and willingness to get the job done! APG & Co values working as a collective, thriving on change, and playing to win. We are built to last.The RolePreparation of financial information for Management, the Board and Executive Committees.Management of a team and driving an inclusive culture of high performance, accountability, and responsibility to contribute towards developing a best-in-class finance functionProcessing month end journals to produce the month end results as well as verifying entries and comparing to expectationsPartner with various internal stakeholders to review monthly results and drive financial performance as well as provide financial analysis and interpretation to drive optimal business outcomesMaintain the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet control including reconciliations.Develop and maintain strong internal controls regarding the performance of the month end process and reporting outputsLiaise with external auditors in respect of financial audits and other audits of group results and reportingEnsuring the accurate and timely preparation of corporate and indirect tax obligationsApproval and lodgement of tax returns and associated calculations including the forecasting of taxation liabilitiesAutomation and enhancement of business processes and reporting outputsProviding support to the Executive Management as well as the Group Financial ControllerYouProfessional certification in accounting - CA or CPA.Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance, or related field.Big 4 background - preferredPrevious experience in a financial or management reporting environment familiar with month end deliverablesAble to interpret and assess accounting standards and apply in the retail industryExperience in ERP systems as well as Excel, Word, and Power-point at an intermediate to advanced levelStrong team management and interpersonal communication skillsAttention to detail and high level of accuracyAble to demonstrate initiative and be ready to innovate and challenge.Hands-on problem-solving acumen and ability to identify efficiencies and provide pragmatic solutionsEffective written and listening communication skills with ability to build relationship with stakeholders internally and externally.Forward-thinking ability to work under pressure and with deadlines.Demonstrated ability in identifying and successfully delivering process improvement.Proven people management experienceAct with honesty, integrity, commitment, and responsibility. Where do I sign?This full-time role is based in our stunning head offices in Alexandria.
