Help us rebuild Australia’s most iconic denim brand.  Once worn by the likes of Steve McQueen and Mick Jagger, JAG has now been relaunched as a fresh and modern interpretation of Australian fashion.  We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial Head of Brand to help drive growth and customer acquisition.  You will be an ideas-driven self-starter who is passionate about brand growth and development.The Head of Brand – JAG is responsible for delivering the JAG growth strategy in line with the brand vision as agreed by the Board.  Major responsibilities include delivering on the brand and product Strategy, brand performance and the development of a high performance team culture.  As a member of the leadership team, the Head of Brand will contribute proactively to the leadership and direction of APG&Co.APG & CoA leader in the Australian fashion industry, APG & Co designs and manages Sportscraft, SABA and JAG. APG & Co values working as a collective, thriving on change, and playing to win. We are built to last. The RoleBRAND PERFORMANCEExceed budgeted Profit & Loss (P&L) targets down to Brand Contribution levelManage purchasing, pricing and brand inventory including inventory performance and health in all retail channelsManage overall brand investment, with Executive team and Board approval Ensure short-term financial goals are balanced with the long-term health and sustainability of the brand BRAND & PRODUCT STRATEGYEnsure a clear strategy and direction for the brand is set and adhered to, acknowledging an understanding of existing and target customers for the brandLead the development and execution of product, marketing and sales strategies in line with the brand strategy and focused on increasing brand awareness and customer acquisitionManage a commercial and desirable product range and retail environment that meets sales budgets, margin targets, proposed range mix and customer expectations CULTURE AND CAPABILITYModel and refine the group’s culture, values and behaviours, coordinating processes for staff inductions, training and development to cultivate a high performing teamTreat the development and mentoring of team members as a priorityEnsure all brand team members have a constructive working relationship with cross functional teamsYouSenior retail and/or brand professional with top tier Australian retailer (or FMCG) experienceProven management and operational leadership with a strong emphasis on interpersonal skills including coaching and developing of team membersHas held accountability for overall commercial performanceProficiency in identifying and extracting efficienciesHigh level of commercial acumen and strategic capabilityEngages people in discussion around the business direction, conveying the organisational vision and direction and aligns others behind itDelegates responsibilities with a clear set of agreed objectives/measures of success and holds teams to accountTakes a strategic and customer orientated perspective to the businessAbility to make challenging decisions and lead effective implementationStrong people leadership, a highly skilled influencer and motivatorHighest levels of personal integrityCollaborates effectively with fellow executivesContinuous improvement focus and ability to identify new opportunitiesAnalytic and reasoning skills to make operational decisions and evaluate dataAn inspirational leader and role model that enables and inspires others to achieve Where do I sign?This full-time role is based in our stunning head offices in Alexandria.
