Help us rebuild Australia’s most iconic denim brand.  Once worn by the likes of Steve McQueen and Mick Jagger, JAG has now been relaunched as a fresh and modern interpretation of Australian fashion.  We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial Head of Brand to help drive growth and customer acquisition.  You will be an ideas-driven self-starter who is passionate about brand growth and development.Key responsibilities are Brand strategy, Product strategy, Merchandise Management, Marketing Management and Leadership, Culture & Communication. APG & CoA leader in the Australian fashion industry, APG & Co designs and manages Sportscraft, SABA and JAG. APG & Co values working as a collective, thriving on change, and playing to win. We are built to last. The RoleAct as a custodian of the brand, ensuring that:A clear strategy and direction for the brand is set, acknowledging an understanding of the existing and target customer(s) for the brandAll product, marketing and sales strategies are developed and executed effectively in line with the brand strategyShort-term financial needs are balanced with the long-term health and sustainability of the brandTake ownership and proactively manage the financial outcomes of the brand including but not limited to:Profit & Loss (P&L) performance down to Brand Contribution level (i.e. brand sales, gross margin and all costs attributable to the brand)Manage OTB, pricing and brand inventory including inventory performance and health in all retail channelsManage overall brand CAPEX investmentTake ownership of the direction and execution of the brand’s product range:Manage a commercial and desirable range and retail environment that meets sales budgets, margin targets, proposed range mix and customer expectationsResearch, analyse and interpret trends that will impact the brands or may provide new opportunities (categories, segments etc)Be responsible for marketing and communications in line with Brand DNA, focused on increasing brands awareness and customer acquisition through customer insightBe a proactive ambassador for the brand within the APG & Co business and the industry with all existing and potential customers of the businessDemonstrate strong leadership qualities, striving to:Treat the development and mentoring of team members as a priorityDemonstrate respectful and constructive leadership behaviours at all timesBe a proactive and collaborative member of the APG & Co executive teamYouSenior retail and/or brand professional with top tier Australian retailer (or FMCG) experienceExperience running a premium positioned Retail brandProven management and operational leadership with a strong emphasis on interpersonal skills including coaching and developing of team membersHas held accountability for overall commercial performanceProficiency in identifying and extracting efficienciesHigh level of commercial acumen and strategic capabilityEngages people in discussion around the business direction, conveying the organisational vision and direction and aligns others behind itDelegates responsibilities with a clear set of agreed objectives/measures of success and holds teams to accountTakes a strategic and customer orientated perspective to the businessAbility to make challenging decisions and lead effective implementationStrong people leadership, a highly skilled influencer and motivatorHighest levels of personal integrityCollaborates effectively with fellow executivesContinuous improvement focus and ability to identify new opportunitiesHighly developed strategic planning capabilityAnalytic and reasoning skills to make operational decisions and evaluate dataAn inspirational leader and role model that enables and inspires others to achieveInvites and uses the opinions and perspectives of othersA collaborative approach to problem solving rather than a command and control approachA willingness to be flexible and adapt to changeWhere do I sign?This full-time role is based in our stunning head offices in Alexandria.
