Reporting to the Head of Buying an opportunity has come up for a Designer for our Menswear brand to contribute to and support the delivery of SABA seasonal collections. SABA have delivered premium service and modern style since founded in 1965. APG & Co values working as a collective, thriving on change, and playing to win. We are built to last. The RoleContribute to the design process, from concept inception to finalisationExtensively research creative ideas and provide design input into relevant collections in line with the Brand DNA that meets customer needs and offers constant innovationHand and technical drawings for pattern maker and production useAttend fittings and collaborate with other designers in the team, associates and patternmakers for adherence to quality and brand standardsWork with textile designers on print creation and presentationAny task related to the development and production of the samples ranges for press and salesGeneral design room management and administration tasksWork in conjunction with Quality Technicians to ensure product has a high standard of consistent fit and high quality workmanshipFitting experience and a strong understanding of garment construction. Ensuring quality samples are received & fitted in a timely manner & timelines adhered to YouThe successful candidate will possess a strong sense of personal style, exceptional original design skill that can be expressed by illustrations and have a genuine passion and understanding of luxury designer fashion.5+ years in a Menswear Design role with a major fashion retailerStrong knowledge of the Australian fashion market Excellent technical drawing abilityDetail orientedKPI and deadline driven Partner with Buying to deliver sell through and margin Advanced understanding of garment construction, fit and finishesAdvanced Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skills AUD Australia - NSW Sydney CBD, Inner West & Eastern Suburbs Alexandria 2015
