Established by Joseph Saba on Melbourne's iconic Flinders Street in 1965, we uphold our founder's vision by providing our customers a way to express their confidence through premium style. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales through continual design and development of the SABA range in line with the agreed range plans, brand positioning, and market direction and financial expectations.What the role will look like; Collaborate with Head of Design to design product in line with the Brand DNA that meets customer needs and offers constant innovation.Work with Buying Team and Head of Design to ensure collection has consistent fit and modern handwriting, reflects market trends and is in line with customer profile.Work with seasonal colour and concept boards to deliver a powerful and strong in store messageEnsure all fabrication meet all brand standards and 1st margin requirements.Work with Head of Design and Buying Team to identify new opportunities for growthEnsure brand alignment and creative direction complements brand DNA.Key learnings taken from SWOTS and actioned into future design.Visit stores and competitor locations on a regular basisResponsible for Fabric Sourcing and all FIS/Lab-dip Preparation and all strike-off/lab-dip/fabric Approvals.In conjunction with Quality Technicians ensure product has a high standard of consistent fit and high quality workmanshipEstablish and maintain a core block/pattern system in order to ensure consistency across all stylesWork closely with QC and production team to ensure fit samples, sealers and production meet SABA standardsEnsure design and development meets calendar and development processSetting up and entering all design information into AP21 Import Packs in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Critical Path deadlineSkills & Experience; 3+ years’ experience in a designer role, working in commercial design team with reputable retailerLive and breathe the Australian and international fashion marketAbility to work autonomously, prioritize tasks and take initiativeStrong communication skills and attention to detailStrong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skillsCAD knowledge APG & Co CultureThe culture at APG & Co believes in one team, being passionate, clear and simple.
